Flavor Profile
Two honeys, a spread and a grain, all pulling toward the same cozy end of the season.
Boreal Wildflower is the mellow one: creamy, white and mild, a soft floral sweetness that never turns sharp. Spread on toast, stirred into tea, or straight off the spoon. Cacao is a different texture again: dark, thick and chocolatey, closer to a spread, with the cacao doing most of the talking.
Buckwheat porridge is not honey at all: a warm, hearty, nutty breakfast grain, best simmered until creamy and finished with a drizzle of the honey. The petites are the same mild wildflower honey portioned into single-serve packets, creamy and white, made to hand out or tuck into a lunchbox.

Texture & What to Expect
The Boreal jar arrives thick, pale and creamy , not thin and runny. That is not a defect, it is the proof it is real: raw honey sets naturally into a white, creamy texture when it is never heated or filtered. It is unpasteurized, never heated past the temperature inside the hive. Stand the jar in warm water if you ever want it looser.
The cacao honey is thick and spoonable , the colour of dark cocoa. It does not pour, and it is not meant to. Because nothing is filtered out, you may spot fine traces of beeswax and pollen; that is the hive, not sediment.
The petites arrive creamy and white , not runny, because that raw wildflower honey sets naturally when it is never heated. The porridge is a dry grain you cook: simmer with water or milk for a few minutes until creamy, then finish with honey.
Each honey is a single annual harvest, so colour and thickness shift a little from year to year.
Lab Results & Certifications
The honey in this box is tested every harvest at an independent laboratory: antibiotics, pesticides and glyphosate all come back non-detected. The cacao honey is additionally certified organic by EcoCert, and the porridge is certified organic buckwheat. Every document is public.
- Antibiotics, pesticides, glyphosate: non-detected
- EcoCert certified organic (the cacao honey, from an organic wildflower base)
- Organic Buckwheat Porridge: certified organic, gluten-free
- Wildflower honey: Kosher for Passover · COR 902 · CFIA SFCR
See the 2025 harvest COA for Wildflower or Organic Wildflower (the cacao honey base). Full certificates live on each product page.
Kosher-certified · COR 902Certified by the Kashruth Council of Canada (COR), Canada’s largest kosher agency. The wildflower honey is also Kosher for Passover.
Where it Comes From
The Boreal wildflower honey comes from a single apiary deep in the Canadian Boreal Forest of Northern Ontario: wild northern woodland far from farms and cities. No spray drift, no city, and the honey tastes the same jar after jar. The buckwheat for the porridge is grown in the same region.
The cacao honey is built on a light organic wildflower honey from the wilds of Northern Alberta, where Canadian organic rules require a 3 km radius of protected forage around every hive, with organic cacao folded through.
Single-source and never blended. Each honey traces back to its own fields and its own bees.

Questions (7)
Can I have it shipped straight to the person I’m giving it to? Yes. Enter their address as the shipping address at checkout and the box goes directly to them.
Why is it sold out? It is a limited Halloween run and it is gone for this year. Join the notify list and we’ll email you when it returns next Halloween.
How do I make the porridge? Simmer it with water or milk for a few minutes until creamy, then finish with a drizzle of the honey, fresh fruit or nuts. It is organic buckwheat and gluten-free.
Are the petites good to hand out to trick-or-treaters? That is exactly what they are made for: single-serve packets of real wildflower honey, no artificial anything. One caution below on young children.
Why is the honey white and solid rather than runny? Because it is raw. The wildflower honey, in the jar and in the petites, sets naturally into a creamy white texture when it is never heated or filtered. Warm it gently if you prefer it looser. The cacao honey is thick on purpose, closer to a spread.
Does honey go off? How long do we have to use it? Honey does not spoil. Stored with the lid on, it keeps indefinitely. If a jar turns pale and solid, that is crystallization, not spoilage. The porridge carries a best-before date like any grain.
Is honey safe for babies? No. Never give honey to a child under 12 months, raw or pasteurized, petites included. That is a standard infant-botulism precaution and it applies to all honey, from every producer.
